5/12-5/19



I can't believe it is the first week of school!  I hope everyone has a fantastic first week!  Remembered we talked about how tired you will be by the end of the week.  Hang in there! It will get easier. :) This week I will put together a list of items to put in your cheer bag for when we travel and a water/snack schedule.
Practice Attendance
Starting this week if you are not in attendance at a practice you will sit out a quarter of the game and will not be included in the half time performance if it is being cleaned or set. If you are in the half time performance set for this Friday because you attended the summer practices when we cleaned the dance and set formations you must attend all of this weeks practices to stay in it.  Tumbling, stunting and final touches will be practiced, perfected, and set this week for that performance. 
Register My Athlete
Don't forget that your Register My Athlete registration must be complete to cheer at a game or perform at halftime.
Duffel Bags for Games
If you are new to the team and need a cheer bag you have three options. You can use your own duffel as long as it is navy,  buy a navy duffel bag from an outside store or the uniform store, or I can order a custom bag for you.  The custom bags are a large navy duffel. On top of the duffel it has Juan Diego Cheerleader with the eagle embroidered and your name can be added.  The cost is $40. 
Missed Payments
Please make up any missed payments this week.  Uniforms and cold weather gear will be handed out once payments are made. Thanks!
Team Tumbling
Once school starts it is really hard to find team tumbling times.  Our school and game schedule doesn't match up well with Kory's availability.  I always suggest that you find tumbling classes on your own during the school year.  There are weekly class times at UXC along with many other local cheer and gymnastic gyms.  Several of our team members have set up their own semi private weekly lessons that work with the cheer schedule. If an opportunity opens up to schedule team tumbling I will, but at this time nothing is scheduled.

Monday, Aug. 13, Cheer practice 6:30-8:30pm in the Aux gym.  Wear your navy shirt with your white shorts.

Wednesday, Aug. 15, Cheer practice 6:30-8:30pm in the Aux gym.  Wear your pink tank with the pink shorts.

Thursday, Aug. 16, Competition Team practice at UXC 7-9pm/free dress

Friday, Aug. 17, Wear your spirit shirt to school with school uniform bottoms for game day.  Call time is 5pm in the dance studio if practices go well this week.  Call time will be moved up if needed.  That means you need to be game ready at 5pm. Uniform and hair details will be sent out in the GroupMe. Some of you are still struggling with material.  We will talk with you this week at practice to determine whether you should cheer at the first game or wait and cheer at the JV game next week to have more time and gain experience. 

PLEASE BRING YOUR POMS TO ALL PRACTICES, GAMES AND PERFORMANCES!  COMPETITION TEAM PRACTICE IS THE ONLY EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE.
