2/25-3/4

Congratulations competition team on your performance at JAMZ Nationals!  Having to perform at 1am Utah time the first day was tough but you guys really pulled it together and were awesome day two. There is a video of the performance on the cheer Facebook page.  You should all be so proud of yourselves I know we are proud of you as coaches.  We can't wait to see what you will accomplish next year!

Wednesday, Feb. 28,
Practice for the state basketball tournament.  All quarters and sidelines will be set.  Meet in the dance studio at 6:15pm.  Practice will end at 8:30pm.  Wear your teal shirt with your blue Under Armour shorts.  You need to be at this practice to travel and cheer at the state tournament.

Thursday, March 1,
Load bus at 7:50am for the State Basketball Tournament.  The game is at 9:30am.  Wear your uniform, no underliner, crew socks, and your hair should be slicked back in a mid height pony that is straight.  Navy wear your navy bow. Silver wear your teal bow.  You must be in your cheer warm ups to keep warm.  Make sure you have your poms and water.

Friday, March 2,
If the boys win their game on Thursday they will play tonight.  Load the bus at 5:50pm.  The game is at 7:30pm.  We will talk about uniform and hair on Thursday.

Saturday, March 3,
If they win on Friday they will play in the state championship at 1:15pm.  Load the bus at 11:30am.

Tryouts are March 23.  Please do not wait until the last minute to try and get new skills.  You should be continually working on improving your skills. Those of you who would like to make the competition team need to have at least a standing and running back handspring and score within the same range as returning comp team members. JD competes in Co-Ed Intermediate Varsity Show Cheer.  The required tumbling for Intermediate divisions is jumps to handspring and running tucks.  We will consider candidates and returning team members who score high and are consistently throwing back handsprings with the expectation that you will push throughout the summer to get a tuck. The scoring rubric changed this year and tumbling skills need to be thrown by all team members at the same time to get credit.  We can no longer have girls throwing multiple tucks to make up for non tumblers. This change has reflected how we have placed at competitions this year.  We must adjust to be competitive next year.
