On to next week!


Friday 2nd-  Mandatory bonding activity- cosmic bowling at Sandy All Star Lanes. 9-10:30 PM Cost will be around $10 per person. This will be the last bonding activity ever for this year's cheer team. 

Saturday 3rd- 8am-12pm
We will be joining the U of U cheer clinic at the U of U.  The cost is $40 (we would normally be paying $15 for this Saturday but we also have not had to pay $15 for the past two weeks so I would like all of you to use that money to do this clinic, IF money is a big issue please talk to me so we can try to work something out. I don't want you to miss out because of money.) I want ALL of our flyers, guys, tumblers and single base spotters to attend. This will really help us with increasing our skill level and help us with what we will be working on next week for Nationals. This can help take us to the next level and get us ready to really increase our ability to make our routine the best it can be for our big competition.
(We will resume our normal Sat. practices next Saturday and we will need EVERYONE to attend every assigned practice in order to be ready for competition!)

All back owed money needs to be taken to office or given to Anne. Past Due notices will be sent the beginning of March.
PLEASE bring any money owed from the St. George trips to school and put in Coach Anne's box.
Comp money- ALL hotel money needs to be paid to Anne by this Sat. (she will be at the U clinic)
Balances on flights are due Tuesday the 6th of March. ( It was set for March 1st on the papers given out but I am giving a little extra time- I have to send the money to Delta on the 7th) You will be getting statements the beginningof March.
We are getting close!!!!!! Anne will be posting more in depth plans for Nationals next week!
Tryout packets will be out in 2 1/2 weeks. There will be some changes from last year so please make sure you pick up a packet to check it all out and keep checking the new JDCHEERTRYOUTS.blogspot.com page for more info.

St George trip

Thanks to all the girls who took the trip to St.George. It was a great time of bonding.
We had many comments on how loud we cheered and you did a great job adjusting to working with all of the 3 different squads.
Congratulation to the girls Basketball team. They still had a great year and I'm sure they will take us to State again next year.
If anyone has pics from the trip (cheering, swimmimg, at the habachi restaurant or around Entrada or video of our performance. Please get them to Spenser so that she can have them for our year end video.)
You were all so great to travel with, you are awesome girls!!!

Update for Girls Basketball play off weekend!

State tournament in St. George starts Thurs. We will leave around 11:00 am. Game time is at 5:50 PM and we need everyone to be there by 5:00 PM to get ready and stretched, etc.
 We will stop to eat on the way down, so bring money. You will need to wear your travel jacket and pants. Bring water and non messy snacks for the bus.
Coach Anne and Lori Davis will be staying with the girls.Cost per night will be $40 each. (so $80 total) We will be staying at the Inn at Entrada in a 2 bedroom suite.
Bring pillows and sleeping bags or blankets. We will trade off sleeping in beds and on foam pads. Everyone will have a place. You can bring movies to watch in the suite but they need to be PG13 or less. You will need your $80 in order to go on the trip if you are staying in the suite.
We will go to the grocery store while we are there in order to get snacks/ milk and cereal, etc. So that we do not have to eat breakfast out each morning. Please bring your own money to help pay for the items you will want to purchase. You may also bring snacks from home. We will be eating out for most meals so make sure you bring money for your food. We may order pizza in the room one night to help keep costs down.
We will probably be coming home around 2:30 pm on Saturday depending on how the girls do on Thurs. & Fri.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool so make sure you bring a swimsuit!

Feb. 19th- 26th

NO practice this week!

No tumbling classes this week.

GREAT JOB to all the girls who traveled to Desert Hills. The boys played a great game and all the cheerleaders did a great job being MUCH louder then the DH cheer team. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun too. Thanks for making it a good trip!

Please make sure you get your balances brought current from your last statement. You are welcome to make payments. Please remember that balances must be paid in order to try out and/or to take finals.

Comp. team- no practice this week due to the playoffs, we will resume our practices next week and really start working hard for Nationals. Please plan on attending ALL practices.
Hotel reservations should be made by the end of this month or hotel money given to Anne (payable to the school) so that we can secure our reservations. Flight balances are due in March.

Play off Games Info

Boys play off game on Sat. night at 6 pm in St. George at Desert Hills High School.
We will need to leave at 11 am.  (Coach Anne and Melissa Mendez will be staying with the girls)
Bring a pillow and blanket for the bus and water. You can bring a snack but it must be small and non messy. Nothing that can spill on the bus. We will be stopping for lunch on the way down. (Please bring money for lunch and dinner on Sat. and breakfast on Sunday)
MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR UNIFORM WITH UNDERLINER, TALL SOCKS, BOW, POMS, HAIRSPRAY, BOBBY PINS AND CHEER SHOES.
WEAR YOUR TRAVEL GEAR OR CHEER SWEATS ON THE BUS!!!! You can wear whatever you want on the way back. We may get ready at the school depending on how long it takes us to get there.We will do the best we can getting girls in beds but plan on it being sleep over style (girls everywhere on the floor, etc.) Hotel rooms are almost impossible to find so we are just happy we have a place to stay.
I have reserved a 5 bedroom townhome for us to stay in on Saturday night. Everyone will need to pay $30 each. Please bring cash or a check made out to Anne Degreef (you will need this in order to go on the trip). Also, make sure you bring your money for food. We will come back Sunday around 11 am (arrive home around 4:30 or 5:00) Depending on when the boys bus leaves.

This week

 Tuesday: single basing practice 6:05am -7:15am be on time or condition with Xav til 7:30.
 Boys play in game at 7:00 in Park City. ALL squads. We will leave the school at 5:45 pm Hair poof high pony bow. Pinned and hairsprayed back. Underliners, tall socks, travel gear on bus (over your uniform) (if you have any problems you must contact Anne today) I need a parent or two to ride the bus with us. Please text me' if you can Help out with this!

Thursday: last mandatory tumbling class 6-7 pm $6 All past balances must be brought current or it will be added to your cheer account with a past due fee.

Friday: Girls Varsity Game at home 6:30 PM Varsity ONLY will do this game. Call time 5:15 ready by 5:30. If you are late you will stay after the game and run bleachers!!! 
Please follow directions sent by Alexis. Text her with any questions. Make sure your hair is out of your face.

Cheer Statements

Cheer Statements were sent home today. Please ask your student for the copy.
Balances need to be paid ASAP. They should have been brought current before Semester Finals.
Please get these paid before mid terms.
If you show a credit balance you can donate your credit amount to the cheer program and it can be used as credit for donation money on your taxes and for school contributions. (The school does not pay for the coaches to go to camp with the girls or for our JV or Sophomore coach and any donations will be greatly appreciated to help pay for these costs from the past year) or let Coach Anne know and she can get the school to write you a check for your credit balance.
Credit Balances can also be used for Nationals flights or rooms.

Rooms:
Room payments were due on Jan. 31st.  Please call the hotel if you are paying for an entire room. Otherwise it will probably be easiest if you pay through the school. Please remit your payment to Coach Anne payable to JDCHS CHEER. ASAP! I need to send payment for the rooms the end of next week.

Flights:
The balance on flights is due March 1st. The balance is $215.50 for each person. You may pay by check to the school or by credit card. (Just get Anne your credit card info so she can have it charged.)
The flight amount will due will show up on your next statement that will be run at the end of the month.

Please check the info below and make sure it is correct. Update Anne immediately with any changes and please confirm you have paid for your room if you already called the hotel.

Tryout/Next Year Info

Feb. 7th-11th

Tuesday:
No morning practice
Varsity Boys and Girls at Park City:
Varsity will travel to PC to cheer at both games.
You must be ready by 3:30 (late cheerleaders will condition)
Wear your uniform- with underliner, normal socks, hair in poof w/ high pony, bow. You need to wear your travel gear on the bus (travel gear jacket over your shell and underliner, travel gear pants under your skirt.) We will not have time to get ready when we get there, you must be ready before we leave. Hair, make up, everything. We will have our own bus. Bring water and money for the concession stand if you would like.
Sophomore and JV girls: If you would like to come and cheer with Varsity for this game (it will count as one game subbing up for Varsity lettering) please text Coach Anne tonight and let her know.
(JV girls who choose to go will still have to travel to the Uintah game on Friday)

Thursday:
All squads practice 6:05 - 7:15 AM  (conditioning for all tardies from 7:15- 7:30 AM)
Service Hours opportunity: Harmons at Bangerter for PTA Days.JD will have a check stand decorated and will help with a fundraiser.
3-5 PM Delaney, Molly, Taylor, Kate Brown
5-7 PM Anna, Tiara, Madison, Jessica
We can use 1 or 2 more per shift if there is anyone else who needs service hours. (just let Anne or Brooke know)
Please wear your uniform. Hair can be down or up with bow. Cheer shoes with normal socks.

Regular tumbling class 6-7 PM
ALL BACK OWED TUMBLING MONEY NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT CURRENT!

Friday:
JV will travel to Uintah and cheer at the boys and girls Varsity games.
Buses will leave at 10:30 AM. Check out will be at 10:00 AM. Other info will be sent by your captain.

Sat.
NO comp. practice
We will have single basing practice next Tues. morning from 6-7 AM (Xav will condition anyone who is late) ALL boys and all flyers need to attend. If you are a spotter for the single basing stunts you should also be there. We will have Sat. morning practice on the 18th (unless basketball play offs cause a conflict)

Other Updates:

Cheer tryouts have been moved to April 25-27 due to school building conflicts.

We will have our comp team bonding activity on Friday evening- March 30th. (instead of the 24th)

I will update everyone on our cheer play off schedule for basketball as soon as I get updates.
Traveling for regionals and State will be decided upon by Chris Long. Selection of cheerleaders who will be traveling to the play off games will be done by the coaches.
