IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ABSENTEE POLICY!!!

Please familiarize yourself with the absentee policy for cheer. It is listed in two places on the set of rules that all the cheerleaders and parents signed at the beginning of the year! We also went over it the beginning of the year and the rules should be in the cheerleaders binders with the absent policy highlighted.

Coach Anne will be preparing unexcused absence notices over the break and they will be handed out at practice. There are quite a few girls who already have at least one unexcused absence for the year.

In event of missing a practice or a game please follow this procedure:

Cheerleaders MUST request permission to miss a practice at least 2 weeks PRIOR to absence or it will be considered UNEXCUSED.  In case of sickness or emergency, cheerleaders must notify coach BEFORE practice begins or it will be considered UNEXCUSED.
ALL excused absence requests will be granted soley at the discretion of your squad's coach and the head coach. You will be made aware of whether your absence will be considered excused by your coach. Decisions are final and uncontestable.

In the event you acquire 2 unexcused absences for practices, games or any mandatory event, you will be placed on probation. 3 unexcused absences will result in missing a game or performance. If your acquire an additional unexcused absence you will be immediately expelled from the team with no chance of reinstatement.  (This is for the entire year)

Absences make it very difficult for the entire team. When only 1 person is missing we can not work on pyramids, stunting, setting formations etc. It is the responsibilty of the absent cheerleader to find out what they miss while absent and make sure they learn the missed material BEFORE returning to practice.
If a cheerleader does not know the material or was not present to get put in a formation they WILL sit out.

Excused absences WILL NOT be considered for ANY event that you have control over scheduling.
Work, babysitting, homework, studying, vacations, being tired, not having a ride or parents not wanting you to attend, etc. will NOT be considered as an excused absence.

Please plan your time wisely so you will not receive numerous unexcused absences.
