 (You MUST stay in the hotel with the team unless you are with your parent. Each room MUST have an adult chaperone in it. We need at least 6 parent chaperones for this trip. Price includes all taxes.) Hilton Anaheim next to the convention center. There is a food court and Starbucks on location.

Refundable deposit of $40 due by Dec. 30th (refundable until Jan. 10th) Balance by March 1st.

If you are not shown as paying your flight deposit on the list then you are NOT secured a flight. Please contact Anne ASAP to confirm you want a flight and get her the deposit before Dec. 30th.

Disney Park Hopper Tickets can be purchased at Costco or online from Disney
It is cheaper to buy them online before you get there. No passes from Nationals

We will have Coaches/Parents taking the students to Disneyland on Fri.  Sat. & Sun. Students MUST stay with a parent or assigned coach or chaperone at ALL times.

Friday night we will be going to downtown Disney or city walk area and eating together as a team.

Comp team: Sat. practice from 9-12 at Xtreme
Nate Blackhurst will be joining us on Sat. to help us with our comp. routine. It will be awesome to have a fresh set of eyes to watch our routine, help us clean it up, give us new ideas and help us in general.
If you do not know who Nate is, you should look up his bio under our cheer section on the JDCHS website. He is an amazing coach and will be great help! He will also be teaching our tumbling class this week. We will have him do warm ups with us and then we will go over each tumbling section of the routine and he will help spot and give feed back. Kory thinks this will be very good for you guys too!
Cost for this week is still $15. Everyone MUST bring their money and any back due monies to get completely caught up before the Christmas break.
Anyone not attending practice that did not previously clear it with Coach Anne will receive an unexcused absence for comp team. Please remember: 3 unexcused absences and you will miss a competition, 4 and you will no longer be allowed to participate as a team member.
New Nationals papers will be sent home on Saturday!

Finals:
Please contact Anne tonight if you have not paid your statement balances in order to arrange for payment. You should have received a text if you still owe and arrangements need to be made in order to insure you can take finals!

Cheering at games:
Make sure you check your calendars to see which game you are assigned to over the Christmas break. If you will be out of town for your scheduled game then you need to contact Coach Anne to let her know you would like to switch. Anyone who does not contact Anne by the end of this week and does not show up for their assigned game, WILL receive an unexcused absence!

Countdown to our Christmas is on!!!! Here's how it looks until the break!!!

Tuesday:
Comp. practice 6-7 am DO NOT BE LATE or you will stay and run ladders! Everyone needs to be there, we need to work on fixing stunts and on new skills.
Leadership meeting from 7-7:30 am- We will be planning the Christmas Party
Sophomore squad is cheering on the girls Varsity team against Juab. Game time 7 PM. Nicole will let you know what time you need to be there!

Wednesday:
JD boys basketball team is taking on Hunter.  JV game is at 5:15 (see Kara for call time)
Varsity game is at 7 pm. Plan on being there READY by 5:30 pm (group B- but any Varsity cheerleders are welcome to cheer, just let Anne know by Tues. night)

Thursday: (Statements will be handed out today and we will draw names for secret santa gifts) Balances need to be paid in full or a payment plan must be in place to insure you can take semester exams!!!  (We need to pay all of our cheer invoices for the program before the new year)
ALL squads practice 6-7:10 (working on basketball material and dances)

Tumbling class: Regular tumbling classes will now be held on Thursday nights. (Please bring any back due money-it needs to be brought current before our break)

Saturday:
Competition practice at Utah Xtreme from 9-11:30 AM (Cost will be $10) Competition team WILL tumble this day- but there will be NO ADVANCED tumbling class this day. (Advanced tumblers who are not on the comp team please attend Regular tumbling class or a class at a local gym.) Nationals fees are shown on your newest statements. They are due in January.
*Parent meeting for comp team members at 11:15 at the gym. It is VERY important at least one parent attend. We have some breaking news on some scheduling conflicts that need to be addressed immediately before we can procceed with our travel plans. We will be voting on what choice will be better for the entire comp team.*


Sunday: UPDATED
CHEER PARTY/Mandatory Bonding Activity: We will be having our annual Christmas and Service Project Party this day. 12-2:30 PM Parents are welcome. We will be collecting donations for Primary Childrens Hospital. A list of items that are always needed at the hospital was given out at practice Thurs. morning. Everyone signed up to bring something to eat for the party.
Leadership will be taking the donated items to the hospital.
We will do our cheerleader of the month for Nov/Dec at the party. We will also be handing out our new sweats.  Cheerleaders also drew for Secret Santa gifts. They will exchange gifts at the party (Please do not go over $20 MAX. for your gift recipient and make sure the gifts are appropriate.)
Party will be held at Coach Anne Degreefs house. 14218 So Canyon Vn Cove, Draper Ut.  It is located right above the Draper temple on South Mountain.
Directions: Head South on 1300 East continue on 1300 E through the roundabout and under the bridge heading to south mountain. After you go under the bridge turn right. Head West and then take your first left.
You will head up the hill and go to the right out of the roundabout. Make your first left (towards the temple) and then make a quick right. You will travel up the hill onto Canyon Vine Cove. The house will be on your right (with the steep driveway)  SEE YOU ALL THERE!

Tuesday Dec. 13th: CHANGE: PLEASE READ!!!
I have decided to Cancel the game and practice for this week. I have based my decision on quite a few influential circumstances and I also feel that we all need a break and want you all to focus on your semester finals. Please use this time appropriately and make sure you study, get rest and do well on your exams. We want all of you to succeed academically.

Take a break to study for finals!!! no tumbling classes this week (comp will work on routine and synchronized tumbling at comp practice)

Sat. Dec 17th:
Our last full comp. practice before our Jan. 7th Competition at Timpview. (This is a BIG competition)
9-12 (no advanced tumbling, only comp. team) We will have practice in the morning the week of competition.

See your calendar for the game you will cheer at during the break. No practices!

Congratulations to our comp team for qualifying on their first try for Nationals!
We will be traveling to Anaheim the end of March to compete at the United Spirit Association Nationals Competition.
However, we still have a lot of work to do in order to score higher at our January competitions.
Good Job and let's keep getting better every week!! 

COMP TEAM URGENT UPDATE

All comp team members must print out and sign a consent form for tomorrows competition.
follow the directions below: Everyone MUST bring it tomorrow or we will not be allowed to compete!!!
Log on to http://www.varsity.com/ then click on competitions and brand. Go to the bottom and click on United Spirit Association (under the competitions header) Click on competitions again ad then high school spirit.
You can click on the Medical release & appearance form and print it out.
It needs to be filled out completely and signed by a parent.
DO NOT FORGET IT!!!!

Final Times for Cheer Competition

The schedule for our competition this Sat. is now finalized.
We are scheduled to go on at 11:45 AM.  We will need to be there completely ready by 10:45 AM.
Our category of awards will be around 12:00 and then we will be done.
I will hand out the competition schedule tomorrow morning at practice!
Please be at the school at 6:25 AM tomorrow so we can go through all of our stunts. EVERYONE needs to be there and be ON TIME!
Boys will get their shoes.

Basketball game change

The boys basketball game that was scheduled for this Thursday night for JV and Varsity will be on Friday night instead of Thursday this week

COMP CHEER UPDATE

Saturdays Competition Information:

Competition will be held at Cottonwood High School
5715 So. 1300 E.
Murray,Utah

It will start at 11:00 a.m. and we will go on around 1:30 p.m.
(this is tentative until the final schedule comes out)
We will need to be at the school- completely READY at 12:00 (if our time stays at 1:30)

Cost for non-competition members is $7.00 children under 5 are free.

The blog will be updated and a text will be sent out when we have our final performance time.

Awards will commence around 2:00 and will only take 10 minutes. We will then be done for the day.

Make sure all girls hair is pulled back in poof with very high pony. Use bobby pins and lots of hair spray to keep your hair out of your face. Let's look professional!
Boys need to wear white athletic shoes.

Flight Deposit Due

The money for our Nationals Competition flight is due THURSDAY morning.

You must bring in the deposit ($40 refundable until Dec. 30) for each person flying with us. In order to secure the rate of the flight and to make sure you have a spot.

Comp. Team: practice from 9-11 am  (Bring $10) No Advanced tumbling class.
(full out tumbling routine and single basing stunts!)

Comp Team needs to be at the school at 2 PM (the whole team) preferably with one parent to help set up the floor. (It should only take about 30 min. if we have enough help)

Comp team will practice immediately after getting the floor down. Plan on being there until 3:15

Bring your uniforms with you so that you can get ready at the school.
Comp. team will start in their comp uniforms. Make sure your hair is in very high pony with poof pinned,  bow forward and pinned. Flyaways pinned down and hairsprayed. NO JEWELRY (including belly button piercings) Make sure you have a white bra/ sports bra and that it is hidden! Comp makeup on including lipstick.

(Food will be available at the concessions starting at 5:30 PM. Please Do not get food on your uniforms but you are welcome to bring money and eat whenever you want. We will have hotdogs, pizza, chips,nachos and dip n dots- Please encourage your parents and other spectators to support us at the concessions)

All squads: Need to be at the school completely ready (no jewelry, no underliners, NO bra straps showing. Cheer shoes ON) Hair in high pony with poof and bow, flyaways pinned and hairsprayed.

4:15 PM Both teams need to be ready for warm ups in the main gym at all times. Do not disappear. When it is our turn to take the floor for warm ups we must get on and off quickly.

All spectators will pay $5 at the door. (half of our proceeds will go to Nationals fees for the comp team and the other half will go to our main cheer fund to help pay for program needs) This should be a great fundraiser for us!

Be at the movie theater (Thanksgiving Point) by 1:30 to turn in any last minute money and get your popcorn.
Any one can attend. bring money if you want a drink. All money and tickets need to be turned in before the movie. Movie will start at 2:00

U of U cheer calendars

I had some girls and parents interested in purchasing the U of U cheerleaders calendar.
They cost $20 each and are only available through a U cheerleader. Liss can get them signed for you if you would like them signed.
