Tryouts are right around the corner.  Gym time is important to get the tumbling skills you may want by tryouts.
We have been given a great opportunity for a free team bonding at the Draper Cinemark!  Our team has been offered free reserved seats at a Preview showing of Eddie the Eagle.  We will meet at 6:30pm and your seat will only be held until 6:45pm.  The show starts at 7pm.  This is not mandatory but I hope everyone can make it!  I know the football team is also attending.  It should be a lot of fun.  I need to send a final RSVP list by Tues. morning.  Please text me yes or no by Monday at 5pm so I have a final list for the representative for 20th Century Fox.  They said they invited us because our mascot is the eagle.

Next week both squads will travel to Ben Lomond on Wed.  and cheer at home on Friday.

Both our boys and girls basketball teams are doing very well in region play.   They will probably both go to the state playoffs and possibly play in the state championship game held at  SUU Feb. 25-27.  Silver squad members are traveling to Las Vegas for Nationals that weekend.  We need ALL Navy squad members to keep these dates open to travel to Cedar City with Coach Kara to cover these games.  Thank You!

We will set the routines for the drill competition on Sat.  It is important that you are at practice from start to finish to be included in the performances.  If you are taken out of the routine for attendance reasons you will still be required to attend the performances on Sat. and support the team.

I would like to thank our Navy squad members who stepped up and helped out last Wed. Without them it would have been very embarrassing to show up at a game with just a few cheerleaders.

I want to let the competition team know how proud Mackenzie, Isabelle, and I are with their performance Saturday.  With so many changes having to be made and very little practice time you really pulled off a good performance.  You increased your difficulty score by three points which is a lot on a cheer score sheet.  You also increased your overall score from your first competition.  We just need to be more confident while performing and clean it all up.  One thing that will give us the best chance at Nationals is to have 100% attendance each Thursday until National.  We look forward to working with you at practice this Thursday!

Basketball Games

Last week we had 9 out of 20 cheerleaders attend the game! :( If we hadn't asked both squads to attend we would have only had a few cheerleaders.  I understand Senior Service contributed to this but I still want to remind all of you that basketball games are mandatory and I ask that you make every effort possible to attend all your squads scheduled games.

Tumbling

Please remember that tumbling is also mandatory and you are required to pay even if you do not attend.  You share the expense as a team.  That is how we get such a good rate from Kory.  Some of you already received your UXC statement for Nov. and Dec. The rest of you will get it this week.  If you are on credit card you will not receive a statement.

Both Squads - Boys basketball game at Maple Mountain.  Meet in the Great Hall at 4:45pm to load the bus.  Make sure you are in full uniform including your underliner with your hair in a high pony. Wear your squad bow or senior bow if you are a senior. Don't forget to bring water and any snacks or meals you would like. 
Wednesday 1/6
Both Squads - Tumbling at UXC from 2-4pm.  This is the only team tumbling we will have this month.  Numbers were light last tumbling session.  Please remember tumbling is mandatory for all team members and you will be charged for the session by UXC unless you have been medically excused by a coach! 
Thursday 1/7
Navy practice after school.  Meet in the usual place.
Silver/comp practice at UXC from 7-9:30pm
Friday 1/8
Comp practice at after the seniors finish their service projects for the day. Time and location TBD
Saturday 1/9
Competition at Roy High School. Competition time is 1pm.  Meet in the Great Hall to load the bus at 10am.  Any Navy Squad Members who would like to ride the bus up to Roy High School to support the competition team is more than welcome to join us. Be aware that there is a cost to get into the competition.
