Wednesday 2/25

Tumbling at Utah Xtreme Cheer with Kory from 2-4pm  

Cost: $10

This is open to anyone planning on trying out for SJB or JD Cheer next year.  Even if they are not currently on the team at this time.  If they are not a current cheerleader on campus they will be required to fill out the waivers and pay the $35 gym fee.

If you are trying out don't waste this opportunity! 

Thursday 2/26

Varsity will check out at 11:25am to get ready for the game.  You will meet Coach Kara in the Great Hall completely ready at 11:50am.  This means you are in full uniform including cheer shoes and your hair is done.  Wear your cold weather warm ups to stay warm.  Do not wear miss matched sweats and slip on shoes.  Your hair should be braided into a high pony with the lace bow to match your lace spankies. Don't forget your poms! :-)

You will need to pack a lunch to take and eat on the bus.  You may not leave the school after being checked out to get ready, so make sure you have food packed.  Don't forget a water bottle!

JV/Sophomore squad will cheer at the girls game. Your call time is 6:20pm.  You will meet Coach Tracie in the Great Hall at 6:20pm completely ready.  Please use the instructions I listed above for Varsity.  The only difference is you will wear this years team warm ups to keep warm and you should have already eaten dinner.  Don't forget a water bottle!

Friday 2/27

If both teams win Thursday all squads will cheer both the boys and girls games on Friday.  We will board the bus around 3:15pm.  The first game is at 4:15pm.  After we cheer the first game we will go out to dinner at a near by restaurant and return to cheer the second game at 7:30pm.

I am optimistic that this will be our plan.  If both teams don't advance we will change our plans accordingly.  Coach Tracie and Coach Mackenzie will cover Friday's games.

Saturday 2/28

If they advance to the finals the girls will play at 11am and the boys will play at 1pm.  All Squads will attend and cheer at the state final games.  

Starting Thursday we will have to take it game by game and adjust accordingly.  Please make sure you don't schedule anything that would conflict with any of the times above.  Thanks!

Friday

All Non Comp members will cheer at both the boys and girls playoff game.  The boys game is set for Friday night at 7pm.  The girls will be either Friday at 5:15pm or Saturday at 12.

If both games are on Friday your call time is 3:30pm.  Coach Mackenzie will set halftime with you.  If  only the boys game is on Friday your call time will be 5pm.  The girls game would then be played on Saturday and Coach Kara will cover that game and set a call time.

All Competition team members will be school excused for Thursday and Friday this week.

Any JV and Soph girls who can sub up are strongly encouraged to attend the game in Park City. Please text Tracie if you're going to attend. See the Varsity blog post from this week to see call time and what to wear.

Friday 2/13
JV and Soph meet at 4:15 to practice for the game. Hair needs to be in a high ponytail with a braid. Please wear this year's spankies.

A Look Ahead

Starting on Wed. Feb. 18, and continuing every Wed. thereafter, all JD cheer team members planning on trying out for next years team are invited to start attending tumbling from 2-4pm with Kory at UXC.  If there are enough girls committed to attend a second instructor will be added.  The cost is $10. This will turn into your regular weekly tumbling and will be mandatory after tryouts.

Comp is in Vegas competing at JAMZ Feb.19-22 

Friday, Feb. 20th, boys Varsity playoff game.  All non comp team members.  Coach Mackenzie will cover this game.

Monday

Meet in the Great Hall at 6pm.  Practice is from 6 - 8pm.

Tuesday

Game call time is 3:50pm in the Great Hall.  Please be in full uniform. Full uniform includes cheer shoes.  You can wear this years cheer warm ups or cold weather gear to keep warm. Wear your hair in a half up.

Amanda and Sarah are providing dinner.  Sierra is bringing snacks.

Wednesday

Valentine's Day cookie making for the basketball team.

Friday

Valentine's themed game against Uintah.  Since red is one of Uintah's colors we  will use pink and purple as our theme colors.  Call time will be determined by how well practice goes Monday night.

Varsity 2/2-2/8

VARSITY

Tuesday 2/3

We will have practice from 3:15-4:45pm in the elementary gym.  You will learn a new dance to perform at the next and possibly last home game.

Friday 2/6

Varsity 2 will travel to Tooele. Call time is 3:35pm. All Varsity members are welcome to attend. Let me know tomorrow at practice if you plan on cheering so we can make sure enough food is provided. Miranda and Sierra are on the schedule to cover dinner.  Please have your parents contact Ann Kruse to confirm.  Kaylee is in charge of the snack. Wear your uniform, lace spankies, low white socks, and your hair in a half up with the lace bow.

Next Tuesday 2/10 

All Varsity members will travel to Park City.  Call time is 3:50pm

Sarah and Amanda will provide dinner.  Sierra Is in charge of snack.

JV and Sophomore Squads 2/2-2/7

Tuesday 2/3
JV and Soph will be traveling to Morgan. You will dress here at the school before we leave. Please wear your uniform and your travel jacket and pants on the bus. Wear your hair half up with your white bow. We will board the bus at 3:35. We will cheer for the 5:15 and 7:00 games so we will not get back until late (it is about an hour and 15 minute drive, so we should be home about 10:30).

Please bring food to eat. Snacks will be provided, but a meal will not. Bring money for concessions if you'd like.

Saturday 2/7
JV and Soph non-comp will be cheering at the wrestling meet. Wear your hair half up with the white bow. You must arrive at 12:30 and we will be here until the finals end (about 4:30). I'm still working on food so I'll let you know more details as it gets closer.
