Christmas party
The annual cheer Christmas party will be held this Sunday from 5-7:30pm @ Coach Tracie's house.  14483 Gray Fox Dr. Bluffdale 
Dinner will be served
Please bring a fun ornament to exchange.  It can be serious or something crazy but appropriate.  Have it wrapped for a gift exchange.
We will also collect items to donate to Primary Children's medical center. 
You can go on their web site for a list of items needed.

Basketball coverage
There are many more basketball games then their were football games.  Though the coaching staff will make every effort to split the schedule so it is not to overwhelming we know there will be times that conflicts arise.  If you have a conflict we ask that you find someone from a different squad to trade with you or cover for you.  Please make sure you keep your coach informed of any switching. Our numbers are not high and missing just a couple cheerleaders is really noticeable.

Tumbling

Team tumbling sessions will be sporadic during basketball season. UXC is holding a fundraiser this Tuesday at the Texas Road House by South Town Mall.  They will get a percentage of the proceeds made from people who have one of their flyers.  The coaches will be having a coaches meeting Tuesday at Texas Road House in support of Xtreme.  If your family is looking for a place to have dinner Tuesday let them know they could help UXC out.  Make sure you let the restaurant know you are there to support them. :)

It should be a fun but busy week!

This week we are preparing for the UXC/JD Showcase on Friday and the State football game on Saturday.  The drill team will not be able to perform at half time for the state game.  We need to step in and be prepared to perform.  We would like everyone to attend Tuesday's practice so you are included.  The state football game is mandatory.  If you can not attend for any reason please let me know ASAP.

Tuesday 11/10

Practice will be held from 6-7:30pm in the great hall for all squad members who would like to be included in the state football game half time performance.
Comp team practice for friends and family is from 7-9pm in the aux gym.
Wednesday 11/11
Tumbling at UXC from 2-4pm.  We will spend some time on the stunts and tumbling for the state half time performance.
Remember last week Kory said your balance must be caught up with him in order to tumble this week.
Thursday 11/12

Friday 11/13
Comp Team members must be at the elementary gym by 3:15pm to help unload the floor.  If you know any students looking for volunteer hours recruit them to help. The more help we have the faster it will go. Practices this week will determine the rest of the afternoon schedule for the showcase.  Uniform and hair details will go out in a groupme.
UXC/JD Showcase

Free admission to students that help unload the floor and tear it down after the showcase.

Saturday's game info.

The game has been rescheduled to start at 1pm.  We have the main gym starting at 10am for practice. Arrive in full uniform including your underliner.  The band will not be in attendance so we will have to set quarter dances and run through the half time performance.  At 11am Sofia Davis will arrive to help you with your make up.  We have the dressing room ( Dance Co. side) from 11am till 12:30pm.  During that time you will need to get your hair done, make up done, and have something to eat.  You can either pack food and bring it with you or have someone bring something to you during this time period.  All Cheerleaders must be ready by 12:15pm so we can be on the turf by 12:30pm. If it is easier for you to arrive at 10am with your hair and or make up done instead of doing it at the school that is fine.  Don't forget to bring water that will last you for both practice and the game.  Remember you should have all your cheer gear in your bag for every game,  just in case.

Tuesday 10/27

Navy Squad if you would like to be in the zombie Halloween half time performance at this weeks game please meet at 3pm by the girls locker room to learn choreography from Lauren.  You will only be there 30 to 40 min. but will need to return at 7pm to silvers practice to put the actual routine together.  Silver figured out the choreography at their practice on Saturday.

Silver Squad practice from 7-9pm in the elementary gym.  This is a mandatory practice to be in the Halloween performance.

Wednesday 10/28

Both squads tumbling and stunting at UXC 2-4pm.  You will run through the Halloween performance full out with stunts and tumbling. This is a perfect opportunity to perfect it while you are on a full set of matts for safety purposes.  You must attend this practice to be in the performance.

Thursday 10/29

Right now the football game is scheduled for Saturday at 4pm.  Chris Long is trying to get it moved to Friday.  You need to keep both days available and I will let you know when it is finalized.  The earliest it can be finalized is Wed.  There is a game Tuesday to determine who we play. For the game you will be zombie cheerleaders.  If you happen to be at the store and can pick up some zombie make up that would be great! 

Comp practice will be scheduled opposite the game.  We are making good progress but still have a ways to go to be ready for Friends and Family.  :-)

It is a three hour bus ride with at least one mandatory stop each way.  We will stop on the way for dinner before the game.  Make sure you bring money to buy food.  Bring snacks and water for on the bus. Uniform information will go out in a groupme later this week. I need to know who will be traveling to the game from Navy squad ASAP so I can add you to the check out list.

Girls Soccer first round state playoff Game at 4pm.  This is optional as to not put to much pressure on you, but highly encouraged.  Cheerleaders if you attend you will be excused from tumbling a little early and will earn extra merits to erase an absence you may have. Just a reminder that your merit count is one of the tools used to determine interview scores at tryouts in the spring. Taking advantage of extra merit opportunities can be helpful. :-)

Homecoming Week

This will be one of the busiest weeks you will have all year!  It will also be a lot of fun if you keep a positive attitude! To help minimize stress please make sure you are taking care of yourself and managing your time well so you don't fall behind with your school work. :)

Statements were passed out last week to those who have a balance due on their cheer account.  Please bring your payments to practice on Tuesday. Some of your balances are 60 days past due and may result in not being able to participate until they are taken care of.  The cheer account is not given extra money from the school to cover our expenses.  Our bills need to get paid!  

Tuesday 10/6

Practice for both squads from 7-9pm in the elementary gym.

Make sure you have reviewed both the pep rally and homecoming performances before practice.

Practice Schedule

The next couple weeks will be very busy. Along with covering games, both squads will perform together at pep rally, separate pre game homecoming, and combined again for homecoming half time.  That is three different performances to prepare for in two short week. 

Tuesday Sept. 29

Both Squads: Combined practice for the pep rally.  7-9pm in the elementary gym.  Wear your sapphire love cheer shirt.  Don't forget your poms!

Wednesday Sept. 30

Both Squads: Combined practice with Drill and Dance company.  Wear your Juan Diego Cheerleader shirt and Navy shorts.  Drill coach Matt Delly has choreographed a performance and will teach it from 1-3pm in the High School main gym

Thursday Oct. 1

Navy Squad will cheer the JV football game 3:30pm.  Coach Kara will set your call time.

Silver Squad will cheer the Varsity Volleyball game. Call time is 5:50pm.  It is their pink night.  Wear your shell, skirt, pink spanks, pink bow, and pink socks.  I will provide pink poms.

Friday Oct. 2

Varsity Football game @ Grantsville. Mandatory for Silver, optional for Navy.  Navy squad members please let coach Tracie know on Tuesday if you will travel to and cheer at the game on Friday.  Call time 4:30pm.  Wear your uniform with the underliner.  Do not forget your warm ups, poms, and water.

Saturday Oct. 3

Silver/Comp Team practice at UXC after the football players get out of film.  2-4pm?

Practice schedule 9/15-9/21

Tuesday 9/15

Both Silver and Navy Squads meet at 5:50pm for the Varsity Volleyball Game that starts at 6pm in the main gym.  Wear your Juan Diego cheerleader t-shirt, Navy shorts or warm up pants.  Your hair should be in a pony with your small bow.

Silver will practice right after the game until 8:30pm

Thursday 9/17

Navy practice after school.  Meet Coach Kara by the girls locker room.  Wear your pink camp outfit.

Silver/Comp Choreography @ UXC 7-9pm outfit or colors will be set on Tuesday.

Friday 9/18

Both Silver and Navy meet in the dance studio at 5pm for pre game warm ups.  Remember to eat before the game, bring water, and your poms.  I will watch the weather and set our uniform closer to game day.
